I make electronic gadgets and produce them in small scale for sales, mainly serving the fellow Toki Pona speakers. Unlike other makers, my livelihood does not depend on the sales of these devices and profitability is not my objective. The R&D cost are fully covered with the free time of my own and the money from my own wallet. On top of that, I'm willing to take a thin margin and I do cost optimization for small scale production. Therefore, I'm able to sell stuffs at much lower unit price (US$5-US$50ish) compared with other makers (US$100+).
With that said, these devices are not produced in large scale and I'm unable to enjoy the economy of scale. Therefore, my devices are still considerably more expensive than other mass-produced gadgets available in the market. I'm sorry about that.
